System Quality Evaluation and Technology Acceptance of an Occupational Health and Safety Incident Reporting Application at a University in Bangkok Metropoli
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to (1) evaluate the quality of a digital application for reporting and monitoring occupational health and safety (OHS) incidents in a university environment, (2) examine users’ level of technology acceptance, and (3) analyze the relationships among system quality, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, technology acceptance, and organizational impact. The study integrates the DeLone and McLean Information Systems Success Model with the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to develop a comprehensive framework for evaluating digital safety management systems in higher education institutions. This research employed a quantitative approach. Data were collected from students, faculty members, and university staff who utilized the safety reporting application. The sample size consisted of 300 participants. A structured questionnaire was used as the research instrument. Descriptive statistics, including mean and standard deviation, were used to describe the data, while Pearson’s correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationships among the study variables. The findings indicate that users perceived system quality, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and technology acceptance at a high level. The correlation analysis revealed that system quality was positively and significantly related to both perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Furthermore, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use were positively associated with technology acceptance, while technology acceptance showed a positive relationship with organizational impact. The results suggest that improving system quality and designing user-friendly digital applications are critical factors for enhancing technology acceptance among users. Effective implementation of such systems can strengthen occupational health and safety management in higher education institutions and support more efficient organizational decision-making processes.
