Focus and Scope

The Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE) journal is an international platform for publishing high-quality research in engineering science and technology, supporting advancements in specialised fields of agricultural and biological engineering. The journal emphasises sustainable development and innovation across a wide range of areas, including
• Soil, water and environmental resource engineering, irrigation and drainage engineering
• Land-use planning and conservation

• Biological system engineering, bioproduction processes,  and post-harvest processing

• Biorenewable resources and mangement

• Agricultural machinery, mechatronics, automation, robotics, and intelligent agricultural equipment (e.g., sorting machines)
• Smart farming systems, greenhouse technologies, equipment, and environmental control in agriculture
• Agricultural logistics, supply chains, and related products
• Internet of Things (IoT) and applications of digital technologies in precision agriculture, remote sensing, radar, and geographic information systems (GIS)

The journal welcomes empirical research articles, and review papers presenting experimental results, theoretical analyses, design and development studies, innovations, advanced analytical techniques, and research tools. Contributions that integrate engineering principles with agricultural and biological applications to promote sustainability, efficiency, and innovation in the agricultural sector are especially encouraged.

 

Peer Review Process

Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE) was published by the Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University (KKU), the journal was committed to provide academic and research works in ABE.

All submitted manuscripts must be reviewed by at least two expert reviewers via the double-blinded review system. 

 

Publication Frequency

The Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE) is a monthly journal circulated every three months: January – March, April – June, July – September, and October - December by the Faculty of Engineering at Khon Kaen University, Thailand. Its purpose is to promote and disseminate knowledge, academic work and research in engineering and the physical sciences that represent advances in agriculture and biological systems. Copies of the journals are sent to different academic institutions in the country. All articles to be published must be approved by experts in their related fields and have all rights reserved under the Patent Act of 1994. 

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

- Creative Commons Copyright License

The journal allows readers to download and share all published articles as long as they properly cite such articles; however, they cannot change them or use them commercially. This is classified as CC BY-NC-ND for the creative commons license. 

- Retention of Copyright and Publishing Rights

The journal allows the authors of the published articles to hold copyrights and publishing rights without restrictions.

 

Publication charges

There are no charges to submit and publish all types of articles in the ABE journal. All articles published in our journal are open access and are freely and widely available to all readers via the journal website.

Copyright and Licensing

ABE places great importance on safeguarding authors' rights and promoting the responsible dissemination of research through copyright protection and licensing. Our policies prioritize transparency, accessibility, and proper attribution. Authors retain full copyright ownership, and articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution License. Readers are allowed to download and share published articles as long as proper citation is provided; however, they cannot modify the articles or use them commercially. This is classified as a CC BY-NC-ND license under Creative Commons. By retaining copyright, the journal allows authors to hold full publishing rights without restrictions.

 

Revenue Source

The Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University financially supports ABE. ABE receives support to assist with administrative and technological requirements. The editorial board is not allowed to interfere with the double-blind peer review process when manuscripts are submitted. This ensures the quality of the articles and the transparency of the journal.

 

Advertising

ABE reaches out to both academic and public audiences to continually increase its reputation and recognition. ABE maintains transparency throughout its advertising policy. Relevant and appropriate advertising activities, such as participating in academic conferences, are employed. Most importantly, none of our advertising partners have any influence over editorial decisions. ABE emphasizes ethics and professionalism, upholding the highest publication standards.

Direct marketing activities, such as engaging with researchers in relevant fields and fostering strong communication with our authors, are used to promote journal research articles, reviews, and scholarly papers.
