Abstract

Cercospora leafspot is a common foliar disease of mungbeans. A study was made using two resistant and five susceptible varieties and lines of mungbean to evaluate the loss due to the disease. A split-plot design with four replications was used; with and without application of fungicide were the main plots, varieties and lines of mungbean were the sub-plots. It was found that the reduction of yield of susceptible varieties and lines ranged from 26.95 to 34.38 percent. It was found also that the disease affected seeds weight per plant, seeds per plant, pods per plant, but not seed size.
