Abstract

Understanding the individual characteristics of an engineer in which personality traits contribute to the efficient use of human resources is important. This study was conducted to determine the distribution of personality traits of construction engineers and the differences in personality in their engineering careers. Data were collected using the Keirsey Temperament Sorter II and analyzed by descriptive statistics. The results show that the characteristics of the design engineer are different from the other construction engineers. The personality traits of design engineers are extraverted, intuition, thinking, and perceiving, while the others (construction engineers, supervisors, and project managers) are extraverted, sensing, thinking, and judging.
