THE TRANSBOUNDARY COOPERATION AND DIALOGUE ON WATER MANAGEMENT: THE PRESENT SITUATION OF THE TRANSBOUNDARY WATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT BETWEEN CAMBODIA AND VIET NAM IN MEKONG DELTA

In the years 2000-2008, the Mekong River Commission has implemented Water Use Program (WUP) to develop models of the basin, technical guidance for implementation of the Mekong Agreement 1995. In order to complete the procedures more consistent with the actual situation, MRC need institutionalization of procedures and principles of integrated water resource management (IWRM) in the Lower Mekong basin through its framework and the member countries. Currently, MRC is doing priority for the institutional development of transboundary IWRM and considers the connection created the unity and continuity for WUP. In the articles, the transboundary IWRM between Cambodia and Vietnam were presented to clarify the status and performance orientation within the MRC’s procedure (Hưng, 2015).
