The new project of population locations, new industrial zone of Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding provinces, which are the backfill projects along the Soai Rap, Sai Gon Rivers, which are in Long An province and Ho Chi Minh City, have made the increasing of tidalwater level on Sai Gon River (at Phu An hydro-meteorology station) to cause the inundation at many places, which are in Ho Chi Minh City. In the National University ofHo Chi Minh City’s research frameworks, the assessment impacts of the new backfill projects along the Soai Rap–Sai Gon Rivers to increasing a tidal water level at Phu Anhydro-meteorology station on Sai Gon River are implemented. The results of research haveinitialy identified the relationship between the backfill areas with inundation status by tidein Ho Chi Minh City in current years. The paper will present the results of the assessment impacts research and give some recommendations about the management of urban usingland plan.
