PARALLEL ALGORITHMS FOR NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF TURBULENT WAKE DYNAMICS IN LINEAR STRATIFIED FLUID
Keywords:
Parallel computing, functional and domain decomposition, splitting method, turbulent wake, stratified fluidAbstract
The aim of this research is to apply the parallel computation techniques of functional and domaindecompositions to a numerical simulation of turbulent wake dynamics behind an axisymmetric body ina stratified fluid. A theoretical estimate of speedup is constructed. The dependence of speedup on thelatency and bandwidth of parallel computer systems is analyzed. The parallel numerical results havebeen compared with the experimental and numerical data for momentumless and drag turbulent wakesin a homogeneous and stratified fluid.
