About the Journal

Aims and Scope
Science and Engineering Connect (ISSN 3027-7914 (Online), formerly KMUTT Research and Development Journal, is a peer-reviewed journal published by King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Bangkok Thailand. The journal aims to serve as an outlet for publications in interdisciplinary areas related to engineering, science, and technology. The topics covered by the journal includes, but not limited to:

Types of Articles
The journal publishes original research articles and review articles, which have not been published nor simultaneously submitted for publication elsewhere.

  • Research article: An article must report original research findings in the areas that fall within the scope of the journal. Each article should include a well-defined research question, methodology/materials and methods, results and discussion, and conclusion. An article must also provide research findings, clear discussion, and significant contributions and novelties to a particular field.
  • Review article­: A review article must provide a comprehensive overview of the existing literature on a specific topic within the scope of the journal. Review article should analyze and synthesize the literature, identify knowledge gap, and suggest directions for future research to address such a gap. The length of a review article may vary depending on the scope and content of the topic.

Language
A manuscript may be written either in Thai or in English. For manuscripts written in English, authors are encouraged to have their work reviewed by a professional English editor prior to the submission. Article Processing Charge (APC)
Manuscript review and publication of an accepted article are free of charge. No article processing charge is required.

Publication Frequency
The journal publishes 4 issues per annum, in:

  • March
  • June
  • September
  • December

Peer Review Process
Each submitted manuscript must be reviewed by at least three independent experts in the field via the double-blinded review system. Further information on the peer review process is available here.

Science and Engineering Connect is owned, managed, and published by King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand. KMUTT provides financial and operational support to ensure high-quality, peer-reviewed, open-access publications for the global science, engineering, and technology communities.

Copyright and Licensing
All contents of an article published in the journal, including text, equations, formulas, tables, figures, and other illustrations, are copyrighted by King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) license. Reproduction of these contents in any format for commercial purposes requires a prior written consent of the Editor of the journal.

Open Access Policy
The journal is published and archived in the Thai Journal Online (ThaiJO) database, which is owned by the Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI) Centre. All articles published in the journal are open access and freely available to read, download, and share under a Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) license.

Revenue Sources 
The journal is fully supported by King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand. However, this financial support does not influence the journal’s peer-review process.

Advertising and Direct Marketing
The journal does not accept any advertising revenue or paid advertisements, and does not engage in direct marketing practices. Journal promotions, calls for papers, and other related announcements are communicated through the journal's and organization’s websites.

Journal History
Science and Engineering Connect, formerly known as KMUTT Research and Development Journal, was established by King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand in 1977. In 2024, the journal changed its name from “KMUTT Research and Development Journal” to “Science and Engineering Connect” and replaced the original ISSN 0125-278X (Print) and ISSN 2697-5521 (Online) with the updated ISSN 3027-7914 (Online). The above changes are effective as per Volume 47, No. 1 (2024) onward.
